Your implant is planned before we ever pick up a drill.

Many general dentists place implants freehand — using 2D x-rays and clinical judgment to estimate position, angle, and depth in real time during surgery. It works, but the plan is being made and adjusted while the surgery is already underway.

We do it differently. Your CBCT 3D scan lets us map the exact position of nerves, sinuses, bone, and the adjacent teeth before surgery — and that plan is used to fabricate a custom surgical guide. During placement, the guide locks the implant to the position we already planned, not the position we’re estimating in the moment.

The goal is precision before surgery, not adjustment during it.

What's the difference between guided implant surgery and freehand placement?

With guided surgery, your CBCT scan is used to plan the exact implant position before surgery, and a custom surgical guide locks that plan in during placement. Freehand placement relies on the dentist estimating position and angle in real time using 2D imaging. Both can produce good outcomes — guided surgery simply removes more of the guesswork before the procedure starts.

Am I a candidate for an implant?

It depends on bone, gum health, medical history, bite, and the condition of the tooth site. A consultation is the only reliable way to know.

Does it hurt?

Implant placement is done under local anesthesia. Some soreness afterward is normal — we’ll tell you exactly what to expect before the procedure.

How long does the process take?

It varies. Straightforward cases move faster; cases needing extraction, grafting, or extra healing time take longer before the final crown goes on.

What actually happens if I wait?

Nearby teeth can shift, chewing gets harder, your bite can change, and the bone in the missing-tooth area continues to break down — which can mean more treatment, not less, the longer it sits.

Is an implant better than a bridge?

Depends on the case. An implant doesn’t require reshaping the teeth next to it; a bridge can be the better call in certain situations. We’ll lay out the tradeoffs for your specific mouth.
